Chadds Ford Days Spotlight: McGraw and McLaughlin

You can look forward to hearing the extensive talents of a wide array of bands at our fun-filled Chadds Ford Days on September 12th-13th.  Here is one band that will bring a new twist to old favorites.

McGraw & McLaughlin: Acoustic Duo – Classic and Alternative Rock

A thru and thru rock-n-roll duo that has been performing in the Philadelphia area since 2006.  Kennett Square native Sean McGraw’s passionate vocals and Wilmington, DE native Ed McLaughlin’s blistering guitar work have lit up local venues and earned tremendous respect in the local music community.  Both are huge music fans and each brings their own unique versions of songs by their mutually admired artists.  This combination is, at times, explosive – light those fireworks and rock out!  Check them out below:

Chadds Ford Days Spotlight: Hake & Jarema

To kick off our Spotlight Series for the 2015 Chadds Ford Days this September 12th-13th, we will be featuring our band line up for our musical entertainment.

Enjoy a blast from the past, brought to you by Hake & Jarema: Acoustic Duo – Classic Rock & Blues

Hake & Jarema have been playing their brand of acoustic classic rock, blues, and folky old soul music for the last 15 years throughout Chester County and beyond.  Comprised of Bill Hake (lead vocals/guitar) and Matt Jarema (lead guitar/slide guitar/vocals), sets include a wide variety of music by such greats as The Allman Brothers Band, The Beatles, Jim Croce, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Willie Nelson and many more.  They bring a healthy dose of nostalgia through these songs, but also add an original twist to each.  Here is a video that provides a small glimpse into the full experience this duo will bring to Chadds Ford Days:

Announcing the 50th Annual Chadds Ford Days!

Welcome to the 50th Annual Chadds Ford Days!
September 12-13, 2015

Originally founded as a commemoration of the  Revolutionary War Battle of the Brandywine fought on September 11, 1777, Chadds Ford Days has become a community institution that brings together past and present to celebrate our local heritage. Every year, it draws thousands of visitors to spend the weekend learning about history, shopping for crafts, enjoying live music, food and drink, and supporting local businesses.

To countdown this year’s event, we will be featuring a Spotlights Series on the participants, the historical precedents and other interesting facts about Chadds Ford Days. We will highlight the restaurants, the musical bands, the antique dealers, the crafters and the colonial demonstrators who will make the event a success. We will also talk about dispelling myths about colonial life and the American Revolution with Mythbuster Fridays.

Chadds Ford Days is a great family event as well, with an obstacle course, a moon bounce and other fun games to entertain the kids. You can even bring your dogs to participate in the canine demonstration course!

Tickets will be $10 for adults 18 and over. Kids, pets and parking will all be free.

So, stay tuned for all of the exciting updates on this year’s lineup and we hope to see you there!
